Biography
Paras Kumar Mishra, Ph.D. is Assistant Professor at Department of Cellular and Integrative Physiology, University of Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha, Nebraska, USA. His research work is primarily focused on understanding the mechanism of pathological cardiac remodeling during heart failure especially in diabetics with the aim to develop intervention tool for potential therapy of diabetic heart failure.His research has been supported by American Heart Association, and National Institute of Health grants.
Research Interest
His research interests are investigating the role of miRNAs (especially miR-133), matrix metalloproteinases (MMP-2, and -9), homocysteine, hydrogen sulfide, beta-adrenergic receptors in autophagy, epigenetic modification, cardiac stem cell proliferation and differentiation, extracellular matrix remodeling, contractility of cardiomyocytes and cardiac dysfunction using state-of-the- art techniques.
